Model Preview, Selective Translation

The powerful preview capability allows visualisation of parts or assemblies stored in any CAD format prior to translation into SolidWorks. It has all functions of a graphical viewer allowing to zoom, rotate and pan the model and also features a project tree showing the model structure. Using the model preview, user can select entities he wants to have translated into SolidWorks by defining model entity name, colour, groups or picking entity directly on the 3D model. User can choose any combination of assemblies and parts, translate them into SolidWorks and leave the rest behind. This provides huge savings of time and computer resources (memory) and gives manageable data in SolidWorks.

Batch Mode

FormatWorks Professional automatizes translation of multiple data sets with Batch Mode feature

Large and multiple data sets can be automatically translated using batch translation. Batch translation operates without any user interaction. The process is fully controlled and will automatically recover in case of unexpected error or SolidWorks crash. The results are stored in SolidWorks format on selected disc volume together with log file. The most important functions:

• Time-out control in case a file can not be opened
• Automatic SolidWorks recovery in case of abnormal termination
• Automatic application restart after abnormal termination
• Definition of repair options (as a function of required results or objectives)
