Overview:

In this presentation, Siemens announced the inclusion of model-based characteristics natively in a future version of NX with bi-directional input and output to QIF.

With a major CAD vendor (and others) supporting QIF standards and Unique Universal Identifiers (UUIDs), large-scale manufacturing can begin building a digital thread  from design to manufacturing and quality control from a single source of truth. 

The end result: transformation of operations for greater efficiency, quality and competitiveness.
